Dr. Sheena Xin Liu received her M.S and Ph.D from Biomedical Informatics Department, College of Physicians and Surgeons, from Columbia University in the City of New York.  She has been awarded NLM (National Library of Medicine) training fellowship for her Ph.D research at Columbia University . Her research interests include medical imaging analysis, pattern recognition, computer vision, biomedical informatics, neuro-informatics, image-guided surgery and  interventions.  She is now a senior research scientist at Philips Research North America, IGT (Image Guided Technology) Department, working on a variety of topics about interventional guidance such as instrument tracking,  intra-operative data registration , and virtual-reality navigation.  Dr. Liu is a trained physician in China and graduated from HuaXi Medical School with honors. She has published a number of articles in the leading journals and peer-reviewed conferences.  She has been the peer reviewer for IEEE conferences and informatics journals. She also serves as the technical/program committee member for IEEE EMBS and IEEE ISSPIT.
