George Zhaoguang Yang

Biography:

Dr. George Yang Zhaoguang is currently a Principal Research Scientist and Vice President, Centre for Advanced Water Technology (CAWT), Singapore. He has 30 years of R&D experience since graduating from Central-South University of China. He holds a Ph.D. degree from the University of Nevada-Reno and a M.S. degree from South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, USA. Dr. Yang has extensive experience in water and wastewater treatment technologies, analytical and water chemistry, biotechnology, water quality and security. There are more than 100 publications under his name.
In CAWT, he performs research, administers and operates research analytical laboratories to conduct drinking water tests, research projects, and supports regional government agencies and industries. In 1998, he joined Environmental Technology Institute (ETI) of Singapore as the manager of Research Analytical Laboratories, and led the team to be one of the best in the region. Before joining ETI, Dr. Yang has worked in various institutes and industries. He was a research associate at the Generic Mineral Technology Center for Mineral Industry Waste Treatment and Recovery, USA. While working at the Energy and Environmental Engineering Center, Desert Research Institute, USA, he was involved in the State of Nevada Air Pollution Study and the Snow Chemistry Study of the Cascade-Sierra Nevada Mountains. During his service with Environmental Services Division of Westinghouse Electric Corporation, USA, he has held various positions including senior chemist, laboratory supervisor, and senior engineer. He designed, developed, and acted as lead engineer for major efforts.
